Coyote & Crow RPG adventure: Horror at Blackhollow Lodge

Elder Kochoov is missing and presumed dead after a failed hunting expedition north. His entire party vanished, except for his nephew, Miiiginya, who was found by trappers, scarred, frostbitten, and traumatized. Miiiginya's head injuries have left him with fragmented memories: a fierce battle, an earthquake, and desperate wandering.

Upon learning of the disaster and Miiiginya's survival, Elder Kastiki assembled a rescue party and traveled to the trappers' village. Despite Kastiki's efforts to glean more information, Miiiginya's recall remains limited. However, he insists on returning to the valley to recover Elder Kochoov's body for burial, and he pleads for Kastiki's assistance.

Chapter 1: Meeting at the Trading Post

Wosagic is a small trading outpost within the Masking. It was the last place Elder Kochoov’s party met before heading to the Valley. Now, it’s the place where Elder Kastiki Miiginya’s party gathers. The outpost, like most in the area, is a hodgepodge collection of traders, each looking to acquire goods and knowledge from those brave enough to explore the Masking.

The party that Elder Kastiki recruited gathers at the meeting hall located loosely within the center of the outpost. Well, the meeting hall, community center, tavern, the building is basically where the community gathers. There, Miiginya tells his tail to the party. And to others who may be listening.

Chapter 2: The Valley of Blackhollow

After squeezing through the crevice into the valley, you see the interior unfold in front of you. The trees are all twice as tall as they should have been, and the animals are all twice as big. It was like you’ve stepped into another world.

As you enter, you feel a slight breeze blowing. Songbirds singing. And an occasional cracking of dead branches. Then a whisper. Just a soft whisper that sounds like it’s on the breeze. One that sounds like: “Miiginya”.

Chapter 3: Blackhollow Lodge

Set deep within the valley, built into the sides of the valley walls itself, you find an old, hunting lodge. The lodge, built from stone and timbers, appears intact but is showing signs of decay and neglect. The footprints you have discovered though, lead right up to the front door.
